About
Karen S. Dalton, DrPH, MCHC
Working with individuals looking to improve their health outcomes is my passion! I am a Doctor of Public Health and focused on Health Promotion and Education in my studies. I have been blessed with a career in law enforcement where I can use my education and knowledge through the intersection of public health and law enforcement perspectives.
I have spent nearly three decades working with individuals who have experienced significant setbacks in their lives, and as I wind down this career, I wanted to enhance the experience I’ve gained by becoming a Master Certified Health Coach. Working with individuals who are curious, motivated, and excited about identifying, striving for, and achieving their health goals, no matter how big or small excites me! I am a triathlete, marathoner, and lifelong learner who has had bilateral hip surgery, so I understand setbacks and how to overcome them!
When I’m not coaching, you can find me in the outdoors hiking, or fly-fishing on any body of beautiful water. I am a tap dancer, and a founding Board Member of the Whittier Community Foundation, dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals in Whittier, CA. I am certified through the Department of Justice for jail and prison auditing, a Certified Jail Manager, and a Certified Health Coach through the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute. I run my own consulting firm, Dalton Consulting, LLC, where I focus primarily on audits and health coaching!
I hold a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree from Loma Linda University, and master’s and bachelor’s degrees in Social and Health Sciences from California State University, Chico.
